This is an interesting specimen of a great comedy which doesn’t look much like a comedy, and I think I know why. What tricks me is the absence of lightheartedness and goofiness, which are apparently totally pervasive. But not here. No, this is a serious comedy, and not in a German way, nor like a highbrow intellectual comedy. The makers just decided to be above goofiness, and I think their Gulfstreams are well-earned.
