First steps of a kid on his way to becoming a famous film director. There’s quite some family and other background, which altogether makes the film quite long and meandering. I mean, everything is very well done, but it did sometimes leave me wondering, where does the story take me. I found the romantic subplot about the handsome Jewish boy to be the most entertaining.
