A smart and elegant story of opposites becoming closer, of seemingly unpleasant people opening up and showing their good sides and depth. It also strikes a perfect balance between cryptic and overly detailed. Finally, the arc of letters home is just great, and Tony did get a grip of it. Ironically there’s a Russian-speaking “Kraut” as well.
